John has over 25 years of lean manufacturing, product development, and above-shop-floor experience. As a coach, he has led lean transformations in numerous companies and industries, including Northrop Grumman, Johnson Controls, Areva, Peugeot-Citroen, Tenneco, Eaton, Hertz, Schlumberger, Harley-Davidson, Embraer, and Caterpillar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As LEI\u2019s chief engineer, process and product development, John leads the development of learning experiences that enhance design professionals\u2019 lean development knowledge and capabilities while advancing the discipline\u2019s body of knowledge. He codeveloped and is an instructor of LEI\u2019s Designing the Future Remotely: A Lean Product & Process Development Immersive Learning Experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, John teaches classes in lean product and process development and lean manufacturing for the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan \u2013 Ann Arbor. He also contributed to the Toyota Product Development System<\/em> (2006) by Morgan and Liker and Liker\u2019s book The Toyota Way to Continuous Improvement <\/em>(2011).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, John held a management role at Delphi Automotive in enterprise-wide lean implementation and worked through John Shook\u2019s TWI Network. He has a bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario and a master\u2019s and a doctoral degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.
