Ed joined LEI following a 23-year career at Herman Miller, now known as MillerKnoll. He served in various manufacturing operations roles, overseeing the planning and leading shop-floor improvement activities, with a focus on developing people’s capabilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most recently, Ed spent several years as a senior operations manager in the company’s metal case goods facility, leading and developing the entire management structure using the Herman Miller Performance System (HMPS) approach. His role included leading the original model line, where the lean journey and partnership with Toyota Production System Support Center (TSSC) began and continues today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ed had joined the corporate HMPS team in 2010 and led several leadership development initiatives, including an introductory HMPS boot camp for business leaders and the Bridge program for facilitator and supervisor development. In addition, as an HMPS manager, he coached and supported Herman Miller’s North American and UK manufacturing operations leadership through the implementation of HMPS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before joining Herman Miller, Ed worked at Kimberly Clark in logistics, purchasing, and maintenance. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Material Science Engineering from Michigan Technological University. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
