Rachel oversees the development of LEI’s annual Lean Summit and other gatherings, including executive forums and learning tours. She brings extensive experience in lean thinking and practices to her role, including stints as a quality engineer at Toyota Motor Manufacturing (Georgetown, Kentucky), lean consultant with Total Systems Development, and director of events and community support for LEI, where she also served as operations director and education manager. In addition, she’s a Shingo Prize Examiner, member of the Lean Alliance (SME\/AME\/Shingo) Lean Certification Committee, contributing author to Lean Manufacturing: A Plant Floor Guide (SME, 2001), and author of various blogs and articles about lean thinking and practices.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2003, she’s targeted her expertise toward building highly engaging events that educate and inspire practitioners in their pursuit of excellence through lean thinking and practice. In her most recent role at Catalysis, Inc., which promotes lean methods and mindsets to transform healthcare delivery, Rachel served as program director of the annual Lean Healthcare Transformation Summits in the U.S. and Europe and Physician Lean Leader Forum. Additionally, she was responsible for the payment initiatives value stream, which focuses on exploring payment systems that reward health outcomes instead of volume.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before Catalysis, as LEI events director, she played a prominent role in developing LEI’s practitioner-to-practitioner programming, which promotes peer-based learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
