We hear it over and over:\u00a0there is no set length of time for a full lean transformation to occur.\u00a0<\/em>One thing is for certain, though: it takes a very long time.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>But in some industries, like healthcare, time is a luxury they can’t afford. The need for lean in healthcare organizations is very real, and with millions of patients and billions of dollars on the line, time is of the essence.<\/p>\n

That was the founding idea behind the Lean Global Network (LGN)’s Lean Healthcare Initiative (LHI). Currently spearheaded by Alice Lee of Lean Enterprise Institute, Flavio Battaglia of Lean Institute Brasil<\/a>, and Oriol Cuatrecasas of Instituto Lean Management Spain<\/a>, LHI seeks to craft an expedited transformation process to help healthcare organizations implement and reap the benefits of lean faster.<\/p>\n
